In the words of the great Levi Stubbs, “This one’s gonna be SHOATE!” For this blog at any rate.
Social Security is Not Your Money
Rep. Mark Pocan has pronouns in his bio, which helps to explain this mess straight out of the David Hogg School of Spares and Edginess.
Let’s be clear: Social Security is your f*cking money.

Do you even Nestor, bro? No, it’s not your money. I’m sorry, but you’ve been lied to your entire life just as your parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were lied to. Your tax dollars are not contributions. You do not have any property rights to the money. The money you paid in Social Security taxes went to pay benefits for the generations before you. It’s not yours and you haven’t “paid in” to anything. You’ve been taxed and lied to. I’m sorry.
Dino RINOs
Oklahoma Senator James Lankford made himself a tool of the previous administration by co-sponsoring an amnesty bill that codified all of Biden’s executive orders erasing the border and all but eliminating border security. President Trump has proved that we didn’t need a new law to simply enforce existing law. Lankford’s push for due process for illegal aliens and North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis’s opposition to Ed Martin’s confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia (Martin is presently the acting D.C. U.S. Attorney) reflect a fading strain of Republicanism increasingly at odds with the party’s post-2016 realignment.
Lankford’s stance, emphasizing legal protections for non-citizens, and Thom Tillis’s resistance to a Trump nominee who defended January 6 defendants, echo the pre-Trump GOP’s focus on institutional norms and moderate conservatism. In other words, the uniparty. This old guard, rooted in establishment principles like globalization and a veneer of procedural fairness, clashes with the modern Republican base’s demand for hardline immigration policies and fierce desire to see Trump’s agenda implemented.
This is what we voted for. The party’s shift toward populism and nationalism has sidelined such dinosaur figures, rendering them relics of a bygone era as voters prioritize border security and distrust of elite institutions over traditional conservative ideals. These people are living extinct anachronisms from a Republican party that no longer exists. There was a political realignment and they had concrete shoes.
