The Tom Homan Show

Border Czar Tom Homan

There are over 700,000 criminal illegal aliens that are known by ICE to be in the United States. That’s a Congressional District.  There are 20 million illegal aliens currently in the United States.  That’s the fourth largest state. During the White House press briefing this morning, Border Czar Tom Homan delivered a stern message to undocumented immigrants, emphasizing the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement policies.

He urged those in the U.S. illegally to self-deport using the CBP One Home app, warning, “You cannot hide,” and declared that starting that day, failure to register with the federal government and carry documentation would be treated as a criminal offense. Homan further stated that individuals with final deportation orders who remain in the country would face “aggressive prosecution” and daily fines of up to $998. He highlighted the administration’s progress, noting 139,000 deportations since January 20, 2025, while defending ICE’s actions as surpassing previous efforts, despite comparisons suggesting slower progress than the Biden era. His remarks underscored a commitment to stringent enforcement, with no sanctuaries for public safety threats, whom ICE can arrest anywhere, including workplaces.

Rogue Judges

Federal authorities arrested former Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, in New Mexico on charges of tampering with evidence. The couple harbored Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, a Venezuelan national with ties to the Tren de Aragua gang, at their Las Cruces property. Following a tip in January 2025, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed search warrants in February, arresting Ortega-Lopez for illegal firearm possession. During a subsequent search on April 24, Joel Cano admitted to destroying a cellphone Hillary style believed to contain incriminating evidence of Ortega-Lopez’s activities, including videos and photos of him with firearms, by smashing it with a hammer and discarding it. The Canos face up to 15 years in prison, with Joel Cano having resigned from his judicial position in March 2025, shortly after the initial raid, and being barred from future judicial roles by the New Mexico Supreme Court.

In a separate case, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI last week, for obstructing federal immigration agents attempting to detain Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican national facing battery charges for domestic violence incident. On April 18, Dugan, reportedly upset upon learning ICE agents were present, confronted them, demanded a judicial warrant, and directed them to the chief judge’s office. She then escorted Flores-Ruiz and his attorney through a restricted jury door, allowing him to evade arrest until agents apprehended him after a foot chase through Milwaukee. Dugan faces federal charges of obstruction and concealing an individual, with a potential six-year sentence, and her actions sparked protests and polarized reactions. Meanwhile, Sawyer County Judge Monica Isham, in response to Dugan’s arrest, emailed Wisconsin judges on April 26, threatening to boycott court unless provided guidance on ICE arrests, citing due process concerns and referencing “concentration camps.” Judge Isham needs to follow her heart and resign from the bench.

Border Czar Tom Homan has cautioned officials not to cross that line.

The line is 8 U.S. Code § 1324,

(A) Any person who-
(i)  knowing that a person is an alien, brings to or attempts to bring to the United States in any manner whatsoever such person at a place other than a designated port of entry or place other than as designated by the Commissioner, regardless of whether such alien has received prior official authorization to come to, enter, or reside in the United States and regardless of any future official action which may be taken with respect to such alien;
(ii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law;
(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;
(iv) encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law; or
(v)
(I) engages in any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts, or
(II) aids or abets the commission of any of the preceding acts,
shall be punished as provided in subparagraph (B).

Homan used the press briefing as a platform for repeating the warning he has been giving since before Inauguration Day.

(i) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i) or (v)(I) or in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), or (iv) in which the offense was done for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both;
(ii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), (iv), or (v)(II), be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both;
(iii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) during and in relation to which the person causes serious bodily injury (as defined in section 1365 of title 18) to, or places in jeopardy the life of, any person, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both; and
(iv) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) resulting in the death of any person, be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined under title 18, or both.

I included the punishments in section (B) to demonstrate how serious the law treats this. It’s not a joke, it’s not political posturing. It’s the law.

Deporting Children Narrative

During this morning’s White House press briefing, Border Czar Tom Homan also addressed the contentious issue of family deportations, specifically focusing on cases involving illegal alien mothers and their U.S. citizen children. He emphasized that the Trump administration does not deport U.S. citizens, clarifying that when mothers face deportation, the decision to take their American-born children with them is entirely their own. Homan stated, “We’re keeping families together. So when a parent says, ‘I want my 2-year-old baby to go with me,’ we made that happen. They weren’t deported. We don’t deport U.S. citizens. The parents made that decision, not the United States government.” This framing countered criticism that the administration’s policies forcibly separate families or exile citizen children, presenting the outcome as a parental choice to maintain family unity during deportation proceedings.

Homan appeared on Face the Nation on Sunday and Margaret Brennan’s gotcha questions ran right up against the law and parental choices.

New Sammy Hagar Song

Let’s wrap on a happier note, or rather a flurry of very happy notes courtesy of Joe Satriani who channeled Eddie Van Halen to help Sammy Hagar create a dream of a song.  Kenny Aronoff perfectly captures Alex Van Halen’s deep field snare sound.  Then there’s Mikey and his legendary harmonies. The song rocks and it’s a wonderful tribute to Eddie Van Halen.
